NEIGHBORHOOD IMPACT CENTER
The Neighborhood Impact Center exists to share God’s love by serving, equipping, and empowering our community through meaningful relationships and practical support. We seek to partner with local churches, organizations, and individuals to meet tangible needs, foster discipleship, and encourage holistic transformation. Our mission is to see our neighborhood thrive as we engage with compassion, build connections, and reflect Christ’s heart for every individual.
Coffee and Conversations • English Classes • Street Evangelism • Community Food Hub • Service Saturdays
Service Saturdays
Service Saturday is an opportunity for church communities to engage their own neighborhood in missions and evangelism. This event allows church small groups, young adults groups, and friends to partner with neighboring organizations to bless our downtown Bellingham neighbors. Our vision is to mobilize the local church to make an impact in our city. We do ask for a small donation to prepare ministry supplies for each event that is dependent on the group size.
Activities may include:
- Sorting clothes for the We Care Thrift Store – a ministry that serves vulnerable populations in Whatcom County
- Handing out sack lunches
- Offering free coffee
- Volunteering at free haircut sessions
- Conducting community surveys
- Offering to pray with people
Service Saturdays are scheduled for the second Saturday of each month, with both half day and full day options available. Fill out the inquiry form to sign up your group today!
HOSTING OUTREACH TEAMS
The Neighborhood Impact Center is ready to host YWAM Outreach Teams. We aim to mobilize the nations to do ministry in Bellingham and throughout Whatcom County. We believe that the United States should be known not just as a sending nation, but also as a nation open to partnering with other nations and YWAM campuses to receive passionate young people who are willing to serve, share the gospel, and help us impact and develop our city. We offer a comprehensive DTS-compliant outreach experience with very experienced staff dedicated to hosting during the team’s stay. We can accommodate teams for durations ranging from one week to twelve weeks.
Here are some of the activities we offer:
Food distribution to vulnerable people
Street evangelism
Working with youth groups
Serving the homeless to meet practical needs
Hosting pop-up church services
Participating in English classes with refugees and undocumented community members
Leading conversation clubs
Running kids clubs and sports activities
Partnering with our local YWAM community as we farm, serve our cities, and host events for sharing the gospel and reaching our region
Please note that we are limited to students who can come in on the 90-day ESTA (Electronic System for Travel Authorization) program. This ensures that the duration of stay aligns with the legal entry requirements for participants from the listed countries.
COMMUNITY FOOD HUB
The Community Food Hub is a welcoming and accessible space where anyone in need can pick up weekly groceries without barriers or restrictions. We operate without needing to collect paperwork, IDs, or confirm residence. Our focus is building relationships and caring for our neighborhood. By partnering with the Miracle Food Network, we provide a variety of fresh produce and pantry staples to cultivate a stronger, healthier community where everyone is cared for and supported.
Miracle Food Network’s mission is “To interrupt, intercept, intercede, convert, and distribute food surplus and waste to transform and impact lives in communities that face hunger, poverty and other life altering crises.”
